Release The Grudge, God Is The Judge

It is challenging to be forgiving and kind to someone who hurts you. It is easy to get revenge to make that person feel the hurt you experienced.

Romans 12:19 Amplified Version says 19 Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave the way open for God’s wrath [and His judicial righteousness]; for it is written [in Scripture], “Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,” says the Lord.

God’s vengeance is. He knows what is in the heart of a person. Therefore, if we do not forgive others, God is unable to release us of the wrongs we have done.

Love is a choice, not a feeling; God is Love. Faith works by Love.

What is one of the attributes of Love concerning forgiveness?

I Corinthians 13:5 CEV version says Love is not selfish or quick-tempered. It does not keep a record of wrongs that others do.

It is a challenge not to hold onto things people have done to hurt us.

Matthew 18:21-22 NLT version says.

Then Peter came to him and asked, “Lord, how often should I forgive someone who sins against me? Seven times?”

22 “No, not seven times,” Jesus replied, “but seventy times seven.

It may take some time to work through the hurt, but we can do all things through Christ, which strengthens us.

Once we repent and forgive others, God casts our sins into the depths of the sea and remembers them no more.

There is nothing like God’s Love, it is perfect, and we are made in His image!

Once you have forgiven someone, do not rehearse it. Jesus, on the cross, after he was beaten & ridiculed, said, “Father forgive them for they know not what they do.” I practice saying this each time the hurt comes across my mind. Sometimes you cannot listen to or watch things that remind you of the pain.

Prayer also helps. We know the saying, “pray for those that spitefully use you and say all manner of evil against you.” Only God knows what makes people do what they do. His justice and judgment are so much better than ours.

The word of God says, “blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy.”

You never know when you may need grace and mercy. What you put out will come back to you. You will receive double for your trouble if you put out good instead of evil.

We can release the grudge with God’s help, not rehearsing it and praying for the person or persons that hurt us.

Release the grudge! God is the judge!

Prayer: God, thank you for forgiving me of my sins and accepting me into your family. I repent for holding onto a past hurt, rehearsing it, and judging. God, I pray for the people that hurt me. I release unforgiveness and give it over to you. Father forgive them for they know not what they do. God, I thank you that your vengeance and judgment are just. I trust you. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
