Because Jesus was resurrected we have the power to share the good news with others.
Isaiah 61 says The Spirit of the Lord God is on me. The Lord has chosen me to tell good news to the poor and to comfort those who are sad. He sent me to tell the captives and prisoners that they have been set free. 2 He sent me to announce that the time has come for the Lord to show his kindness, when our God will also punish evil people.
If you have repented of your sins, ask Jesus to come into your heart, and save you. You have the spirit of God in you to share with others how he has delivered you.
Whatever area of victory you overcame, share with others. It doesn’t matter if you are wealthy entrepreneur, lost a loved one, a former prisoner, an addict, or were once bound by sin and God brought you out, you can meet the need of someone going through the same thing by sharing the good news of God. We overcome by the blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimony. When you share what God has done for you, it empowers the other person.
One of the major things that keeps us from sharing the good news is the unwillingness to forgive. When Jesus was on the cross and they were beating Him he said “forgive them father for they know not what they do.” Some people (rather intentionally or not) can do things that hurt others, not knowing the damage that it causes. Jesus had to forgive the ones that wished evil on him in order for Him to gain the victory. We have to do the same. Matthew 6:15 (Easy Read Version) says15 But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins. Matthew 11:25 (Easy Read Version) 25 When you are praying and you remember that you are angry with another person about something, forgive that person. Forgive them so that your Father in heaven will also forgive your sins.”
Some of us need to forgive ourselves for what we have done to others. Remember, there is no condemnation those who are in Christ. Once you confess your sin and start back on the right path, you are now under the blood of Jesus.
Now we have no excuse why we can’t share with others about the goodness of God “The man at the pool of Bethesda” in John 5 kept making excuses as to why he couldn’t get up. He had been in that condition 38 years. We’ve all have situations in our lives that we have been in too long. When Jesus saw how long he had been in that condition he asked “will you be made whole? The man at the pool told Jesus he had no one to carry him in the pool and that every time he tried to get into the pool someone would go ahead of him. Some of us are waiting on God or waiting on others just like the man at the pool. All the while, God is waiting for us to take a step. Jesus said to the man at the pool “rise, take up your bed. and walk.” Immediately, the man was made whole because he got up and did what God told him.
When Satan tries to throw negative thoughts at you reminding you of your sin, remind him of the blood of Jesus. The set time is now to rise up and tell the world about the goodness of God. Even while you are going through, encourage and help others then watch God deliver you. When Job prayed for his friends he got his deliverance. Now is the appointed time. Now is the day of salvation! Just step!
